Lux Research is aggressively seeking a Senior Analyst to launch and lead an advisory service on water technologies, building on our existing research and consulting projects in this field. Lux Research Senior Analysts advise corporate leaders and investment managers on emerging technologies. They think, write, and speak about how emerging technologies will impact business, finance, and society. Our Senior Analysts conduct research through briefings and site visits with executives at cutting-edge companies; they deliver their findings through written briefings, one-to-one interactions with clients, and client-specific projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet frequently with leaders at growth companies as well as large corporations to understand and critique their strategies, technologies, products, and execution.
  • Consult with clients to apply Lux Research's findings to their company-, product-, and industry-specific issues.
  • Lead the development of written research reports, collaborating intensely with peers.

Requirements:

  • Five or more years' experience in water technologies in industrial R&D, product management, marketing, and/or consulting roles. Successful candidates typically join us either from a previous professional services position (consulting, equity research, etc.) or from an industrial technology management position (director of R&D or product development).
  • Demonstrated experience in making critical business recommendations about emerging technologies.
  • A track record of driving business change by presenting complex ideas, distilled into simple and provocative concepts, to C-level executives.
  • Experience with leading teams and projects to deliver results under pressure.

Analysts are the bedrock of the Lux Research team, conducting the primary and secondary research that powers the firms' research reports and consulting engagements. Analysts spend most of their time conducting primary research interviews with executives, researchers, and thought leaders; chasing down data points; analyzing quantitative data; concocting creative ways to present data and ideas visually; and helping manage the operations of a rapidly-growing, geographically-dispersed team. Analysts take on significant client-facing responsibilities commensurate with their experience and growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with a team of expert Analysts and Senior Analysts to develop and test research hypotheses and prepare findings for clients.
  • Conduct primary interviews for written research reports, including developing and executing sets of interviews with senior-level executives at large corporations, technology start-ups, and other organizations.
  • Conduct secondary research drawing on diverse sources, including business and trade press, academic publications, patent filings, and conference presentations.
  • Produce written research reports, including creative visual depictions of data and ideas.

Requirements:

The Research Associate role is an entry-level position on the Lux Research team. Research Associates map the landscape of innovation in emerging technologies to help clients make better decisions about investments, partnerships, and strategy. They spend most of their time identifying and analyzing patents, scientific publications, and financial transactions, drawing on this work to develop and maintain a structured database. Research Associates also manage the process of inviting companies and research labs to brief the Lux Research team, and help to produce the weekly Lux Research Journal intelligence service.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct secondary research drawing on diverse sources, including business and trade press articles, scientific publications, patent filings, and conference presentations.
  • Maintain a pipeline of briefings with senior executives at innovative companies as well as leaders of cutting-edge university and government labs.
  • Author descriptive documents that profile the emerging technology activities of start-up companies, large corporations, and research laboratories.
  • Assist with the production of research reports and other client deliverables.

Requirements:

We are aggressively seeking an experienced Client Director to manage and further develop the EMEA client base. You will be assigned a group of Billion-€-plus clients existing of Chemical and Material companies, Energy and Utility companies, Manufacturing Companies, Electronics Companies and Financial Services companies that requires cultivating and managing strong relationships. You will report to the Director Europe, Middle East & Africa. This position requires moderate to extensive travel (approximately 20% to 40% of the time).   • Manage the group of existing clients with relationships at senior management level (Director, VP, C-level) on the R&D, Business Development and Venturing side.

You will have an assigned quota that requires generating and closing new business opportunities. You will be prospecting Chemical and Material companies, Energy and Utility companies, Manufacturing Companies, Electronics Companies and Financial Services companies. You will report to the Director Europe, Middle East & Africa. This position requires extensive traveling (40% to 50% of the time). The working language at Lux Research is English.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an appropriate and accurate sales pipeline of approximately four times quarterly quota. Maintain accurate pipeline information within Lux's Sales Force system.
