Suzanne Davies joins Lux as a Consultant, contributing to the Agrifood & CPG team and covering the areas of alternative/new ingredients, process and product technologies, and evaluation of novel business models. In this role, she will be delivering bespoke client projects related to technology scouting, technology partnership recommendations, and options to commercialize new technologies. She will be based in Nottingham, England.
Prior to joining Lux, Suzanne worked at PepsiCo International for more than six years in R&D across both long-term research and commercial new product development. At PepsiCo, she was an R&D scientist and led projects focused on technical unlocks for new business, alternative ingredients, and low-fat technology solutions. Suzanne also was the R&D lead for Future Brands, an incubator focused on rapid commercialization of new-to-PepsiCo technologies in the European market. Suzanne brings to Lux her expertise in understanding and overcoming the technical and business challenges of commercializing a new technology at speed.
She holds an M.Phil. in food science and engineering and a B.Sc. in food science and nutrition, both from the University of Nottingham in the U.K. Suzanne also holds a patent for developing a successful low-water-usage method to manufacture pelletized products with unique properties and published a paper on applying nonfood measurement tools to food-based ingredients as a quality assurance screening tool.
Suzanne enjoys skiing, running, and swimming (and plans to add biking to compete in her first triathlon in 2022). She also knows her way around farm equipment thanks to her family’s background selling agricultural machinery.
