Sasha Novakovich is the Co-Founder & CEO of Alchemy, an enterprise Software-as-a-Service company serving the chemicals and materials industries. Alchemy digitalizes lab processes across the product lifecycle to speed time to revenue on new product development, decrease lab cost per sale and improve customer responsiveness. Sasha is a veteran tech industry founder and investor. She started her first tech company in 1999, made her first investment in 2007, and started investing in software for the chemicals industry in 2014. Sasha holds an undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Siah Keng Boon is VP, Advanced Engineering & Technology at SembCorp Industries Ltd. He is responsible for identifying, evaluating and assessing new technologies in the energy, water and urban sectors that can be incorporated to enhance existing operations or as a new business growth in SembCorp. He is responsible for managing specialized research and development projects, and oversees intellectual property assessment and management. An example of a project currently under his care is Virtual Power Plant (VPP) to coordinate a variety of energy resources to optimize power output as a ‘single utility-scale power station’.
Dr. Peter Nieuwenhuizen is Vice-President, Technology Strategy & Deployment at Enerkem. He is also a board director and advisor to several companies and organizations. Peter previously worked for AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals where as CTO he oversaw various strategic initiatives to open up AkzoNobel innovation to public-private, startup and circular chemistry partnering. Prior roles in AkzoNobel include sales & marketing, business strategy, supply chain, and sustainability. He also worked a strategy consultant for Arthur D. Little in the Chemicals & Energy sector. Peter holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from Leiden University, The Netherlands. He lives with his spouse and two children in Amersfoort, The Netherlands.
Dr. Paolo Bavaj is Head of Henkel Tech Ventures, the Corporate Venture Capital arm of Henkel Adhesive Technologies, at Henkel AG & Co. KGaA. Investing in and collaborating with advanced materials startups and related digital startups. He joined the Adhesive Technologies business unit of Henkel AG & Co. KGaA as Corporate Director Strategy and Business Development in December 2010. In April 2013, he became Head of New Business Development, with responsibility for identifying and evaluating innovation opportunities through strategic Foresight Management, Scouting, Start-up Screening, Venturing and Incubation. He joined Celanese Chemicals in 1996, where he worked in Operations, New Business Development and led then a global R&D and New Business Development team, gained experience as Area Sales Manager in the United States, and ran the Celanese Emulsions Textile and Engineered Fabrics business in Europe as well as their global Glass Fiber business. Paolo holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from RWTH Aachen, Germany.
