Challenge
The client, an Asian utility and energy company, approached Lux to assist in the evaluation and ranking of 46 emerging technologies within Hong Kong to make the right strategic investments in and development of those with the potential to disrupt the utility.
Solution & Value
Lux validated and ranked the 46 emerging technologies based on global technology strength, region suitability, and the capability to address unmet needs in the utility and energy sector. Lux then performed a scenario analysis, identified the top 10 technologies, and proposed opinions for the key technologies that the client should monitor/reach out to in different situations. Lux’s recommendations constituted a portion of the client’s investment and development strategy.
