Katrina Westerhof is a Research Director at Lux Research, overseeing Lux’s coverage of industrial IoT and automation, and acting as a strategic advisor to clients in the physical industries as they navigate their digital transformation. Katrina’s research interests include IoT security, industrial analytics, and power grid innovation, and she has held positions with Lux’s Digital, Energy, and Consulting teams.
Prior to joining Lux, Katrina was a strategist and lead engineer for a small energy startup, where she led the design of a novel petroleum processing facility that outperformed traditional plants in economics, safety, and reliability. Additionally, Katrina has worked as an operations and management consultant, with a focus on manufacturing processes and operational excellence in the oil & gas and coatings industries. She holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from MIT, where she worked in the Langer Laboratory.
